班森，1949年11月生，汉族，南宁市人，字樵川，法号净良，佛学师从南京灵谷寺真慈大师，东汉名将班超第74代后裔，书斋称惠和阁。自幼喜爱书画、篆刻艺术，书法先学篆、隶、魏碑，后学楷、行、草，临池笔耕已有60个春秋。班森书法风格比较传统，打下坚实用笔、运笔、结构、布局的书法基础。深得南京灵古寺真慈大师的佛门点跋，个人书法创作中悟出动中取静、静中取动、天人合一、书意一体的书道禅机，其篆、隶较清净，笔画寓藏生机；其行书俊朗、飘逸，得体大方，一笔一画均有古人遗风；其草书较潇洒狂放，特别是毛泽东书体，继承毛体跌宕起伏，挥酒从容、不温不躁的独特书风。南宁青秀山观音禅寺新大雄宝殿刻录其隶书经文。素有"书法怪才"和"书坛隐才"之称。

Ban Sen was born in November 1949, of Han ethnicity and a native of Nanning City. He styled himself Qiaochuan and his Dharma name is Jingliang. He studied Buddhism under Master Zhenci at Linggu Temple in Nanjing, and is the 74th-generation descendant of Ban Chao, a famous general of the Eastern Han Dynasty. His study is named Huihe Studio.He has loved the arts of calligraphy, painting and seal carving since childhood. In calligraphy, he first studied seal script, clerical script and Northern Wei stele script, then turned to regular script, running script and cursive script, and has been practicing calligraphy diligently for 60 years.Ban Sen's calligraphic style is quite traditional, with a solid foundation in brush handling, stroke movement, character structure and composition layout. He gained profound Buddhist comments and instructions from Master Zhenci of Linggu Temple in Nanjing. In his personal calligraphic creation, he has comprehended the Buddhist philosophy of calligraphy: achieving tranquility amid movement and movement amid tranquility, the unity of heaven and man, and the integration of calligraphic form and artistic conception.His seal and clerical scripts are pure and serene, with strokes full of vitality. His running script is elegant, graceful, appropriate and generous, with each stroke embodying the charm of ancient masters. His cursive script is unrestrained and bold, especially his emulation of Mao Zedong's calligraphic style, inheriting its unique features of ups and downs, free and easy brushwork, and a balanced, unhurried temperament.His clerical script of Buddhist scriptures has been inscribed on the walls of the new Mahavira Hall at Guanyin Chan Temple on Qingxiu Mountain in Nanning. He is known as "an eccentric genius in calligraphy" and "a hidden talent in the calligraphic circle".
