方关——最具国际影响力与收藏升值潜力艺术家

方关，男，1947年8月生，浙江建德人，中学教师。自八岁学书，历经六十余载，乐此不疲，逐步形成“雄劲、俊逸”的书法作品风格。早在上世纪八十年代初，就自编写了省编教材《初中语文生字词字帖》。2004年春、开始参加全国书法大赛，获奖数十次。作品先后入选《中国书画大家传世作品集》、《中国荣誉向世界推荐的国礼艺术家》、《魅力中国书画五大名家》、《中国艺术大家》、《中国顶尖书画家方关特刊》、《中华美德大典》、《中国书画收藏最具投资价值二十位艺术家》、《百年巨擘》(方关、徐悲鸿、齐白石、刘大为)、《中国艺圣启功方关双人集、《水墨方阵一刘大为、方关书画作品集》、《翰墨书香一苏士、方关书法作品集》、《书坛同辉一权希军、沈鹏、方关书法作品集》、《艺海同舟一李铎、方关两人集》、《人民书画三大家》(苏士澍、范曾、方关)等十余部典籍，作品赴德、韩等国参展。2016年获中国国际艺术节“金猴奖”终身成就奖，被中国文联授予“国家优秀艺术家”称号。2019年5月8日央视书画频道作了“飘逸洒脱，柔中有刚”一中国当代书法名家方关专题报道。2020年荣获“国际文艺峰成就奖”，授予“世界当代十大顶级文艺大师”荣誉称号。同年八月在北京画馆成立“方关艺术馆”。九月经国际艺术投资网评定为“全球艺术投资巅峰奖”，并授予“全球最具投资价值与收藏潜力艺术家”荣誉称号。九月作品通过国礼特供艺术家评审委员会评审，批准为国务国宾礼特供艺术家。2021年被授予“当代国藏艺术大家”称号并入编《国藏大家艺术档案》大型画册，又入编《艺术百年新中国十大巅峰艺术家》及《中国书法行书大典行书宗师八大家》。2022年6月14日《方关中国当代名家书法集》(大红袍)，由人民美术出版社专家评审组审核通过，现正在出版中。現为中国书法家协会会员、中国民族文艺家联合会名誉主席、中国国家书画院副院长、中国书画名家协会理事、东方书画研究院客座教授、中国国际艺术馆名誉馆长。

Fang Guan Male, born in August 1947 in Jiande, Zhejiang Province, he worked as a middle school teacher.

He took up calligraphy learning at the age of eight and has devoted himself to this art for more than sixty years with enduring passion, gradually forming a personal calligraphic style that is powerful, bold, elegant and refined. As early as the early 1980s, he independently compiled the provincial textbook Copybook of New Words and Expressions for Junior High Chinese.

In the spring of 2004, he began participating in national calligraphy competitions and has won dozens of awards. His works have been selected and included in over ten authoritative art classics, namely Collection of Masterpieces Passed Down by Great Chinese Calligraphers and Painters, China’s Honor: National Gift Artists Recommended to the World, Five Renowned Chinese Calligraphers and Painters of Charming China, Great Masters of Chinese Art, Special Issue on Fang Guan, Top Chinese Calligrapher and Painter, Encyclopedia of Chinese Traditional Virtues, Twenty Artists with the Highest Investment Value for Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Collectors, Giants of a Century (collective volume featuring Fang Guan, Xu Beihong, Qi Baishi and Liu Dawei), Two Masters of Chinese Art: Qi Gong and Fang Guan, Ink Square: Paintings and Calligraphy by Liu Dawei and Fang Guan, Elegance of Brush and Ink: Calligraphy Works by Su Shishu and Fang Guan, Glorious Calligraphy Circle: Calligraphy Works by Quan Xijun, Shen Peng and Fang Guan, Art Voyage: Works by Li Duo and Fang Guan, and Three Great People’s Artists of Painting and Calligraphy (Su Shishu, Fan Zeng and Fang Guan). His artworks have been exhibited overseas in Germany, South Korea and other countries.

In 2016, he was awarded the Golden Monkey Lifetime Achievement Award at the China International Arts Festival and honored as an "Outstanding National Artist" by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles.

On May 8, 2019, CCTV Painting and Calligraphy Channel broadcast a special feature about Fang Guan, a renowned contemporary Chinese calligrapher, titled "Elegant, Free and Unrestrained, Soft Yet Forceful".

In 2020, he received the International Literature and Art Summit Achievement Award and was conferred the title of "Top Ten World Contemporary Literary and Art Masters". In August of the same year, the Fang Guan Art Museum was inaugurated at a Beijing Art Gallery. In September, he won the Global Art Investment Summit Award and was named "Artist with the Greatest Global Investment Value and Collection Potential" by the International Art Investment Network. Also in September, after review by the National Gift Special Artist Evaluation Committee, he was certified as a special artist for state diplomatic gifts.

In 2021, he was granted the title of "Master of Contemporary National Collection Art", with his profile included in the large album Art Archives of Masters Collected by the State. He was also featured in A Century of Art: Ten Peak Artists of New China and Dictionary of Chinese Running Script Calligraphy: Eight Grand Masters of Running Script.

On June 14, 2022, Collection of Calligraphy Works by Fang Guan, a Renowned Contemporary Chinese Master (the prestigious Red Robe Series) passed the expert review panel of People’s Fine Arts Publishing House and is currently being published.
