Wang Guanqing Born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province in 1944, Wang Guanqing is a descendant of Wang Dao, the prime minister of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. He graduated from Wuxi Calligraphy Art College in Jiangsu Province, and later completed advanced studies at the college’s calligraphy seminar and the training workshop of the Chinese Calligraphy Training Center.

His calligraphic works have won dozens of major awards at domestic and international competitions. In 2025, he received the China Calligraphy?and?Painting Lifetime Achievement Award. To mark the 80th Anniversary of the United Nations, many of his works were exhibited at the Great Hall of the People as well as in Japan, South Korea, France, Canada and other regions, earning him the World Art Lifetime Achievement Award. His creations have been collected by the Ministry of Culture, the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, numerous memorial halls and the National Museum of China. Several pieces are inscribed on the stele forest at Xibaipo. His calligraphy has been designated the National Special Grade (the highest rank) by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles.

In 2004, he joined the delegation of the China Calligraphy and Painting Art Exhibition for a cultural visit to France, where an exhibition of his works was held in Paris, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture. His biography has been compiled in more than one hundred classics including Directory of Contemporary Chinese Celebrities and World Who’s Who.
